Smart Grid & Smart Building – Who is Connected and Why?
In recent years, there has been a great deal of interest around the smart grid. With commercials from GE and IBM, talking points from the White House and multiple conferences on the topic, the smart grid is everywhere. Despite the activity, commercial real estate companies, the ones with the biggest impact on the grid, are still somewhat in the dark on this emerging technology. While there are examples of grid-connected buildings, they are not always easy to find. This session will attempt to take the mystery out of the subject and present actual case studies on building/smart grid activities. With building owners and operators playing such a significant role in the smart grid, this session will fast track the discussion on this important topic.
